Another domesticated cat breed ranked third as the most expensive cat breeds is the Bengal. They are one of the rarest cat breeds. Bengal cats were developed to look like exotic jungle cats.

The name “Bengal” was obtained from the taxonomic name of an Asian leopard cat which is P. b. bengalensis. They have large spots with a light colored tummy and a body reminiscent of the Asian leopard cat.

Bengal cats are usually light brown and orange in color. Their rosette spots can be seen only on their back and sides, with stripes in other parts.
